I have been falling behind on my daily posts. (Ok you got me like way behind) So, I would like to apologize for my slacking. Between my job, photography business, church, and school, I am one busy lady, but that is no excuse and I am going to get this off the ground again. Hopefully I can successfully combine my love for journalism and photography and create a totally awesome blog for you to enjoy. Of course it would be helpful to know what my readers would like to read about but I promise to start adding photos and interesting stories and thoughts as we go along.

Have you ever heard the saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?" I have. I have heard this saying enough times to drive me crazy. Sometimes it is hard to understand how something is beautiful whenever all you can see are the negatives. There is more to this saying than meets the eye. How does each eye see beauty differently? What about us as humans? What can we do that will change our perspective and make us see things in a "new" light? I often refer to my camera as a means of showing the world through new eyes. This is so true. Whenever you get up close and focus on something as simple as a flower, the image is different and more clear than when you are standing a foot away. You might be able to see flaws or imperfections that you couldn't see before. Flaws and imperfections make us the total package in the end that is absolutely beautiful. Without differences, flaws or imperfections, we would all be boring and bland. I prefer something with a few imperfections or flaws. To me, it is more beautiful to see a flower that has weathered the storms than a flawless one. I love this photo for this reason, It stands out from the bland surroundings of grass. It is flawed, different but strong. Maybe we ought to look at life this way as well. The person you work with, or a neighbor, family member, or friend that has issues may be flawed but with the use of God's perspective they can become beautiful and perfect. If only we could see each other this way instead of picking at each others flaws the world we live in would be a better place. Just a thought...
