Hey everyone Valentines day is just around the corner. There are so many crazy ways people celebrate it. I personally just am glad I have an excuse to get something pretty for my mom and sisters, and get something for my dad and brother (or just an excuse to buy chocolate). I found out today that some people actually buy gifts like Christmas for their families on Valentines day. My thought on this is... ARE YOU SERIOUS?? I mean yeah I just said I like to buy things for those I love when I have the excuse to but not like a Christmas gifts on Valentines Day! Not only is Valentines Day becoming like this, there are a couple other holidays too, Easter and some people do it for Thanksgiving, I mean what is next. Are we going to celebrate July 4th here in America by buying gifts for everyone? What is this world coming too. I think it is sad that we "Have" to buy gifts for others in order to show our love to them. How shallow are we? I mean yeah it is nice to reiterate how much we love our family and friends from time to time but should we really have to have a holiday for it in order to be noticed? I love Valentines don't get me wrong, but I think maybe America has become too materialized. We have to have things in order to feel loved. I personally want those around me to show their love by doing something nice for me. I don't expect a gift. I just want a hug or maybe a kind and thoughtful word. Isn't that what we ought to do everyday? Just a thought...
A Daily Dose of Thought,
Adina
